The ASI Alliance has announced plans to tackle industry misinformation. The AI Consortium wants to identify fake news threats and tackle it with decentralized innovation.
The Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) Alliance aims to spread quickly and tackle fake news that shapes people’s opinions and decisions.
Fake news affects key areas such as politics, public health and the crypto industry, causing confusion and mistrust. With the rise of digital platforms, fake news is everywhere, making it difficult to know what is true or false. However, the ASI Alliance has introduced algorithms to tackle fake news head on.
ASI Alliance that drives decentralized AI as a solution to fake news
The artificial Superintelligence Alliance, formed by Fetch.ai, SingularityNet and Ocean Protocol, has launched a new AI tool to combat fake news. The system checks information in real time, uses blockchain to see the truth, and makes the news even more reliable.
With blockchain, the system makes the news more open by finding false information and highlighting actual facts. Unlike the old ways, this AI algorithm removes bias and external control, helping people to check the truth more easily.
This new tool is extremely important for the crypto industry as fake news has caused a huge problem. False information spreads quickly online, leading to confusion, making it easier for investors to target fraud and hacks.
In January 2024, just before the Bitcoin ETF product was released, Eric Council posted fake news about its approval. This update triggered a short pump and reset it on the market. In particular, the Council pleaded guilty to the offence, as previously reported by Coinspeaker.
Related XRP ETF updates linked to BlackRock Inc. also have previously performed rounds, indicating the prevalence of misinformation in the industry.
The crypto industry continues to face phishing and malware attacks spread through fake news and trick ads.
In January 2025, phishing losses fell 56% from the previous month to $10.25 million. However, Coinspeaker reported a huge increase in malware attacks and a 2,000% increase in telegram “fake safeguard” scams. The fake Phantom Wallet popup is also targeting Solana users.
These cases demonstrate why strong security systems and public awareness are needed to combat fake news in the crypto industry. Using decentralized AI, the ASI Alliance is trying to stop fake news and lead the facts. The goal is to make people trust online information again.
Broader industry trends
Several platforms have recently launched initiatives similar to the ASI Alliance’s efforts to combat fake news using Advanced Technologies.
Last year, French AI startup Mistral partnered with Agence France-Presse (AFP) on this point. The French-based news agency publishes 2,000 news stories every day to Mistral’s chatbot LeChat. This move is intended to provide a fact-based response.
In particular, the company employs human fact supervision to check results to ensure that they are correct. Launched in 2020, Debunk.org scans thousands of online articles for misinformation, with AI flagging potential misinformation and volunteers reviewing them.
In Europe, the Vera.ai project funds academic research into the development of AI tools to verify news accuracy. These efforts demonstrate the global driving force for using AI against misinformation.
