Digital Asset Advocacy Organization Stand with Crypto has released data suggesting that the crypto policy position of candidates for the 2025 New Jersey Governor Race can determine the outcome.
According to a March 6 notification, Stand with Crypto said about 62,000 people have registered with the New Jersey organization, suggesting that Crypto-oriented voters could play a role in the state’s November gubernatorial election. In the final race of 2021, Democrat Phil Murphy defeated challenger Jack Ciatalelli by around 84,000 votes, bringing over 40% of registered voters.

Advocacy groups released the results of a February poll among 400 New Jersey members, indicating that 63% are more likely to vote for pro-cryptic candidates in the state’s gubernatorial election. Data showed that 17% of individuals in the poll said they would not vote for a governor’s candidate against crypto policy.
“Crypto will play a major role in the 2024 general election, with almost two-thirds of encrypted voters showing the preferences of pro-cryptic candidates, and is being prepared to be a key factor in the 2025 race.”
Codes that affect US elections
During the 2024 cycle, the Political Action Committee (PAC) fairshakes — funded primarily by Ripple and Coinbase — spent about $131 million to support candidates in primary and general elections. The PAC continues to raise funds for the midterm 2026, suggesting that it intends to continue to influence US elections with crypto funds.
U.S. Employment, a Fairshake affiliate, has already spent more than $700,000 to support two Republican candidates running for the Florida House of Representatives seats in the 2025 special election. The April 1 election will be part of the first election to be held after the November 2024 race, when Donald Trump won the presidency and Republican lawmakers won a majority in the U.S. Senate and House.

In New Jersey, Governor Murphy was not eligible to run again and served two consecutive terms. The June primary election will determine candidates for the general election. This includes Democrat leader Josh Gottimer and Republican Chatarelli. It is unclear who will emerge as the forefront of either party in about eight months leading up to the 2025 election.
“Despite their Republican-leaning DNA, almost half of the stands with their cryptography members identify as independents and are persuasive in the governor’s competition,” the stands said on Crypto. The organization added, “Almost half of its members (45%) are persuasive in the governor’s race — either undecided or say they can change the vote between general Democrats and Republicans.”
